About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Customer Lifecycle Marketing Manager to lead all post-acquisition customer journeys, including onboarding, CRM, activation, engagement, retention, and winback. You’ll own a critical section of our growth engine: turning trials into subscribers and subscribers into long-term advocates.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about user journeys and customer success, with deep experience in CRM, lifecycle automation, and data-driven marketing. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, UX, Paid Media, Customer Success, and Analytics to ensure every user has the right experience at the right time.
You’ll report to the Head of Marketing and work closely with the CMO and SLT. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape a growing team and establish key systems and processes for lifecycle success.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Strategy & Leadership
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle marketing strategy: onboarding > activation > engagement > retention > loyalty > winback
- Define goals and KPIs across trial-to-paid conversion, churn, retention, LTV, and reactivation
- Build a roadmap of lifecycle programs and automation flows that maximise revenue and user value
- Collaborate with Product and Customer Success to ensure unified, personalised customer journeys
- Curious about AI and automation to drive smarter CRM and retention activity
- Build onboarding sequences and product education programs that reduce time-to-value and increase early engagement
- Partner with UX and Creative to deliver guided onboarding experiences across channels (email, in-app, video, etc.)
- Own all outbound lifecycle channels: email, push, in-app, SMS
- Use segmentation, personalisation and automation to deliver relevant and timely communications
- Continuously test, learn and optimise lifecycle touchpoints across customer journey
- Design retention strategies that improve subscriber stickiness and reduce churn
- Launch winback and re-engagement flows for dormant or cancelled users
- Build loyalty loops through milestone campaigns, community invites and exclusive incentives
- Define and monitor funnel KPIs: onboarding rate, activation %s, day 7/30/90 retention, churn, LTV, CAC payback
- Leverage cohort and behavioural analysis to identify key lifecycle levers
- Partner with the analytics and marketing ops team to build dashboards and campaign reporting
- Lead A/B and multivariate testing across copy, creatives, journeys, and incentives
- Work hand-in-hand with Product to improve onboarding flows and feature adoption
- Collaborate with Customer Success to align support messaging, escalation journeys, and NPS-driven campaigns
- Partner with Paid Media and Creative teams to ensure end-to-end message consistency across lifecycle stages
- Build and manage a high-performing lifecycle marketing team, with CRM and marketing automation as core functions
- Lead with energy, clarity and hands-on execution while developing scalable systems and playbooks
- 4-5+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, retention or CRM roles in high-growth SaaS, EdTech or subscription businesses
- Proven success in improving retention, churn, engagement and LTV through full-funnel lifecycle programs
- Manage and mentor junior CRM specialists or agency partners to deliver world-class CRM output.
- Design and test personalisation, subject lines, creative formats, and send strategies to maximise engagement and ROI.
- Report regularly on key metrics: retention rate, CLV, open/click rates, conversion, and customer health.
- Deep expertise in lifecycle tools and platforms
- Good understanding of data segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and retention mechanics.
- Proven experience with cross-sell and upsell strategies that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable turning raw data into actionable insights.
- Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Braze, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud + others
- Knowledge of user onboarding tools, in-app messaging and gamification frameworks
- Strong grasp of experimentation, personalisation, segmentation and marketing automation
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong bias toward action
- Data-driven mindset with comfort in presenting results to senior stakeholders

- Distributed working with £150 allowance for home office set up. Most of our team work remotely but we have office space available in our Nottingham office if you prefer hybrid or office working
